UN to Maintain Engagement with Taliban

Stephen Dujarric, spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General, stated that the UN will persist in its interactions with all relevant groups and nations in Afghanistan, including the Taliban, as mandated by the Security Council.

During a press conference, Dujarric urged Afghanistan’s interim government to facilitate greater diplomatic engagement.

Dujarric emphasized that the UN’s operations in Afghanistan adhere strictly to principles of neutrality, goodwill, and a steadfast commitment to human rights and equality.
