Ariana News Agency: The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan reports that 114,000 Afghan soldiers and civilians have been killed in the 20-year US-led war in Afghanistan.
The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) has released statistics on the casualties of the Afghan war over the past 20 years, which shows that 114,000 Afghan soldiers and civilians have been killed during this period. According to these statistics, about 1600 Americans have been killed in the last decade.
In the past 20 years, some 66,000 former Afghan government soldiers have been killed, the report said.
SIGAR added that 48,000 Afghan civilians were killed and 75,000 wounded during the period.
The report also states that 2,443 US troops and 1,144 troops from other countries were killed during this period.
The Afghan government, backed by the United States and the rest of the world, fell with the arrival of the Taliban on August 15 this year, and the Taliban formed their new government.
