The Taliban’s Ministry of Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil has announced that if a woman does not observe the hijab, her legal guardian will be advised and punished for the first time, summoned a second time, imprisoned for three days for the third time, and taken to court for the fourth time.
The decree also states women who work in government agencies and do not observe the hijab will be fired.
