Ariana News Agency: The former head of Saudi intelligence said that the agreement between the United States and the Taliban in the absence of the Afghan government caused the fall of the Saudi government.
Criticizing the rapid withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan, Turki al-Faisal, the former head of Saudi intelligence, said that the Doha agreement in the absence of the Afghan government caused the fall of the Saudi government.
“The fall of the Afghan government became inevitable after Donald Trump reached an agreement with the Taliban,” al-Faisal told Sky News.
He added: “When former US President Donald Trump struck an agreement with the Taliban leaving out the Afghan Government, the legitimacy of the Afghan government was denied and Biden accepted Trump’s agreement with the Taliban.”
The former head of Saudi intelligence also criticized the rapid withdrawal of the United States and NATO from Afghanistan.
The US administration signed a peace agreement with the Taliban during the Trump presidency after 18 months of negotiations in the absence of the previous Afghan administration.
About two months ago, the Afghan government fell and the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
