Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh, the leader of the Taliban, has ordered that English words or abbreviations should not be used in letters, administrative documents and contracts, and Pashto words should be used instead.
This decree was issued under the signature of Maulvi Saifuddin Tayyib, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supervision and Policy at the Department of Cyberspace Affairs, in which all government offices of the Taliban government were required not to use English words.
This decree also stated that Pashto words should be used in official administrative texts and the names of projects and contracts and stipulated that English words should not be used in official administrative texts.
