Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban, criticized Karen Dicker’s statements, Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Afghanistan and said: US officials should not interfere in the internal affairs of our country.
Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on Twitter: “US officials should not interfere in the internal affairs of our country, and organizations operating in Afghanistan must respect the laws. We will also not allow anyone to make an irresponsible statement or threaten Afghan officials under the guise of humanitarian aid.”
Decker had tweeted, “How the Taliban intends to prevent women and children from starving when women are no longer permitted to distribute assistance to other women and children.”
The Taliban recently announced a ban on women working in public and private institutions and ordered NGOs to send women workers home.
