Two Afghan aviation officials told the media that the Taliban did not allow dozens of women to board a plane at Kabul airport because they were not accompanied by a man (Mahram).
Al-Arabiya News Agency quoted the two officials saying that some women had dual citizenship and wanted to go to Pakistan, the UAE, and Turkey.
Dozens of women went to Kabul airport to board domestic and international flights. Still, according to the two officials, they were told they could not travel without the man, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The Taliban has instructed that women traveling more than 72 kilometers should accompany a male relative.
