Hedayatullah Badri, the head of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, stated during a meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations that international sanctions have significantly impacted the Afghan population.
“Due to international sanctions, the purchasing power of Afghan citizens has decreased,” Badri explained.
He further noted that Afghan banks are struggling to access global financial and banking systems, compounding the economic challenges faced by the country.
