Short Link:
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has firmly refuted claims made by an American military commander during a U.S. Senate hearing, which suggested that the Taliban’s failure to effectively counter terrorist groups is contributing to instability in Central and South Asia.
The American military commander emphasized that the Taliban does not seek to exert pressure on the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as part of its strategy against terrorist organizations, despite acknowledging the TTP as a significant security concern for Pakistan’s border regions.
The Taliban spokesperson labeled such assertions as inconsistent with the current realities in Afghanistan, asserting that the country is now secure under the stewardship of a unified government that maintains control over its entire territory. This statement aims to counteract the narrative of Afghanistan as a source of regional instability.
