The Taliban strongly criticized Pakistan for its airstrikes on areas within Paktika and Khost provinces, labeling the attacks as a violation of Afghan sovereignty.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Taliban administration stated that Pakistan’s military actions are perceived as an infringement on Afghanistan’s territory, attributing them to the rash and uncalculated decisions of certain military leaders. The spokesperson warned of severe repercussions that could escalate beyond Pakistan’s control.
Further, Mujahid urged the Pakistani populace to prevent the deterioration of bilateral relations, which could be affected by the actions of what he described as “reckless army generals”.
Additionally, Mujahid refuted Islamabad’s claims regarding the presence of TTP commander Abdullah Shah in Afghanistan, stating that Shah was not within Afghan borders at the time of the attacks.
The spokesperson for the interim Afghan government assured that the Taliban would not permit Afghanistan to be used as a base for threatening the security of neighboring countries.
