Rostam Imam Ali, the speaker of the Tajik parliament and son of the country’s president, has declared that Afghanistan, under Taliban rule, has reverted to being a “center of terrorism.”
Speaking at the meeting of the heads of parliaments of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Imam Ali emphasized that religious schools in Afghanistan are training suicide jihadists.
Imam Ali highlighted that over a thousand religious schools have been established in Afghanistan, with the majority situated in the border provinces.
He stated, “Afghanistan has become the center of terrorism again.” He noted that numerous extremist and terrorist groups have bolstered their presence in the country and that drug cultivation and production are on the rise.
The Speaker of the Tajik Parliament described the situation in Afghanistan under Taliban rule as complicated, noting the lack of real progress in the country.
