Short Link:
The Taliban’s Political Deputy Foreign Minister addressed concerns over reopening girls’ schools, stating that there are some differences.
However, he assured that the issue would be ultimately resolved.
Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai made these remarks during the Ashura ceremony held in Kabul city’s Dasht Barchi area. He emphasized that schools will be reopened for all Afghan citizens without discrimination, asserting that education is their inalienable right and aligned with shari’a principles.
This is not the first instance where the Taliban’s deputy foreign minister has shown support for girls’ education beyond the sixth grade.
