In a recent report, the International Committee of the Red Cross revealed that it has delivered health services and economic support to hundreds of thousands of Afghan women. This report, published on the organization’s official website, outlines activities from June 2025 to July 2026, during which over 800,000 health consultations and examinations for women were conducted at 47 clinics operated by the Afghan Red Crescent.
The organization also emphasized its efforts in providing assistance to more than 980 women during childbirth. These services were rendered in the face of significant restrictions imposed by the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan.
The International Committee of the Red Cross noted that in 2026, as part of its efforts to combat malnutrition, it distributed direct cash assistance to 1,400 pregnant and nursing women. This initiative aims to enhance maternal and child health in Afghanistan.
These humanitarian efforts reflect the organization’s commitment to improving the health and economic conditions of women in Afghanistan. Despite numerous challenges, the Red Cross continues its efforts to address the needs and difficulties faced by Afghan women.
