The Office of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) quoted a former Afghan army officer as saying: “The Taliban search the homes of former soldiers, and if they cannot find someone, they look for their family members. I had moved four times since the fall of the previous Afghan government. If they find me, they will execute me.”
Earlier, the United Nations announced in a report that the Taliban is seeking revenge against the former security forces of Afghanistan. In the past year and a half, they have arrested, killed or disappeared hundreds of former security forces.
