Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, recently stated that no military operations are permitted along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. Speaking in response to recent clashes in the area, he assured that Afghan territory would not be used against Tajikistan.

Control of Border Movements and Security Situation

Mujahid mentioned that there had been some movements along the border in the past few days, but these have now been brought under control. He also noted that the current situation in the area does not pose any serious security concerns.

Activities of Smugglers and Security Challenges

The Taliban spokesperson also highlighted the issue of smugglers operating in the region, stating that the movement of smugglers along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border has been an ongoing issue. According to him, there is currently no military engagement or significant security problem.

It is important to mention that the Tajik National Security Committee previously reported the deaths of two Afghan citizens during clashes with Tajik border forces. These individuals had illegally entered Tajik territory and were involved in drug trafficking.
