Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, recently stated that no military movements are allowed at the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan. This announcement comes in response to recent clashes in the area, with Mujahid emphasizing that Afghan territory will not be utilized against Tajikistan.

Control of Border Movements and Security Situation

Mujahid noted that there had been some movements along the border in recent days; however, these activities are now under control. He also mentioned that the current situation in this region has not posed any significant security risks.

Smuggling Activities and Existing Security Issues

The Taliban spokesperson pointed out the ongoing activities of smugglers in the area, acknowledging that the movement of smugglers along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border has been a long-standing issue. According to him, there are currently no military confrontations or serious security problems.

Border Violations and Statement from Tajikistan’s National Security Committee

It is worth noting that the Tajikistan National Security Committee previously reported the deaths of two Afghan citizens during a confrontation with their border forces. These individuals had entered Tajikistan illegally and were involved in drug trafficking.
