Russia: The United States and NATO have not yet been punished for their crimes in Afghanistan

The Russian diplomat stated that no legal assessment of the crimes committed by US and NATO forces in Afghanistan has been carried out, and these crimes remain unpunished.

A member of the Russian delegation to the United Nations, emphasizing: “today’s problems in Afghanistan are the result of the presence of American forces in the country for 20 years. US and NATO have not yet been punished for their crimes in Afghanistan.”

Arthur Chernyakov, speaking at the 52nd meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, said that the current unfavorable conditions in Afghanistan are the result of the 20-year presence of the US military and other members of the NATO alliance.

Referring to the chaotic withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan in 2021, he added: Americans, British and their satellites left behind ruin and poverty, and now they shamelessly seek to blame the Afghan authorities.
