Rising Poverty and Hunger in Afghanistan

On the eve of Eid al-Adha, the World Food Program (WFP) highlighted the stark contrast between global celebrations and the harsh reality in Afghanistan, where a quarter of the population goes to bed hungry every night.

In a message posted on X, the WFP urged donations to support the needy in Afghanistan during Eid.

The organization noted that poverty and hunger have worsened in Afghanistan since the Taliban took control of the country.
