The US Special Envoy for Women and Human Rights in Afghanistan wrote on Twitter in response to the recent arrests of women protesters by the Taliban that the arrests should be stopped as soon as possible.
Reina Amiri, the US special envoy for Afghan women, said the detention of women in Afghanistan by the Taliban was unfair and should be stopped.
“If the Taliban want to be recognized, they must respect human rights and freedom of expression,” Amiri said.
