Reducing the aid budget to the people of Afghanistan

The United Nations and humanitarian agencies have reduced the budget of the aid program to Afghanistan for 2023.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that the United Nations and humanitarian agencies have reduced the budget for the aid program for Afghanistan for 2023 to $3.2 billion, which is down from the $4.6 billion figure it set at the beginning of the year.

In its announcement, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs added that the changing operational situation following the Taliban government’s restrictions on female aid workers has caused this revision.
