The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior spokesman has stated that recent attacks in the region indicate that individuals from Pakistan and Tajikistan have carried out attacks under the banner of ISIS.
Abdul Matin Qane, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, remarked during a meeting reviewing the ministry’s activities over the past year that regional countries have recognized the origins of ISIS.
He noted that recent attacks have shown that citizens of Tajikistan and Pakistan have perpetrated violence in the name of ISIS.
Qane emphasized that there has been no threat emanating from Afghan territory against neighboring countries or the region. He also claimed that the ISIS militant group is being dismantled within Afghanistan.
He further stated that the Taliban maintains positive relations with several neighboring countries and expects reciprocal cooperation from them.
