Pakistani Senator Urges Policy Shift Toward Kabul

Pakistani Senator Mushahid Hussain has called for a change in Islamabad’s policy towards Afghanistan, citing its failure and the need to address terrorism in the region, despite ongoing engagement with the Taliban.

Hussain emphasized that Pakistan has misunderstood the Afghan people, stating, “Pakistan failed to understand the people of Afghanistan; they are Afghans, not your men.”
He reiterated that while Islamabad continues its engagement with the Taliban, it must also take decisive action against terrorist groups in the region.
In related news, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, recently reaffirmed that despite differences with the Taliban, Islamabad remains committed to maintaining its interaction with Kabul.
