Ariana News Agency: Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the issue of peace in Afghanistan is an international prerogative and should not be only Islamabad’s responsibility.
According to Orband News, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called the issue of Afghanistan peace a common issue, and the idea of ”strategic depth” was no longer relevant and that Pakistan was committed to working with Afghanistan to achieve and advance peace.
“Peace in Afghanistan is a shared responsibility and no failure or mistake should be blamed on Pakistan,” Qureshi said at the opening session of the “Pakistan-Afghanistan Bilateral Dialogue”, hosted by the Regional Peace Institute.
According to the Pakistani Foreign Minister, the mechanism of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS) is to address mutual concerns.
Qureshi said Pakistan intends to assist the Afghan government in rebuilding its country and is working sincerely with the international community to achieve peace.
He concluded by saying, “Violence and reconciliation cannot go hand in hand, and Pakistan is pushing for a ceasefire to reduce tensions,”
