Muneer Akram, Pakistan’s representative at the United Nations, said that it is evident that ISIS is getting stronger and they (ISIS) are taking money from foreign countries. If the Taliban do not have enough money, some Taliban may join ISIS.
Referring to the increase in attacks in Pakistan, Munir Akram added that Islamabad is highly concerned about the increase in militants, especially the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Baloch separatist movements inside and near the borders of the country.
According to this Pakistani official, alongside these groups, ISIS is also working against the interests of Pakistan. He has pointed out to the Afghan Taliban that confronting all these groups is in their “immediate interest” and that the Taliban should confront these groups.
