Over 500 female prisoners in Afghan prisons

The Taliban Prison Affairs Department announced that there are more than 17,000 prisoners in all the country’s prisons for committing various crimes, including over 500 female prisoners.

Habibullah Badr, the military deputy of this department, said that the country’s prisons are not a place for torture, and according to the decree of the Taliban, prison officials have no right to torture prisoners.

There are no political inmates in Afghanistan’s prisons, Badar said.
