One-Third of Afghanistan’s Population Facing Hunger, UN Reports

The United Nations World Food Program has highlighted a dire situation in Afghanistan, stating that nearly half of the country’s population requires humanitarian aid to survive.

The agency noted on its X social media page that out of an estimated 40 million people, approximately one-third are facing hunger.

Additionally, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued a warning just two days before the potential disruption of certain relief supplies to those in need within Afghanistan, signaling a critical humanitarian concern.
