A recent report by the NORCAP research organization unveils that 76% of families in Afghanistan are burdened with debts.
Despite a slight decrease in family indebtedness during the current year, the majority of Afghan families continue to grapple with financial obligations, as per NORCAP’s findings.
The report indicates that 51% of families encountered economic shocks twice in the last year, with rural families at 60% and urban families at 25%.
This comes amid earlier expressions of concern by the United Nations Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) regarding the escalating challenges of poverty and unemployment in the country.
