Mujahid: Several American Citizens Held in Afghan Prisons

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, has revealed that a group of foreign nationals, including American citizens, are currently under the custody of the Taliban government due to various concerns, notably security-related matters.

Mujahid further conveyed, ‘Upon thoroughly examining their cases, the Taliban government will render decisions pertaining to these individuals.’

In a recent diplomatic encounter held in Doha, Qatar, the United States special envoy for Afghan affairs had formally petitioned the Taliban to unconditionally release American citizens who are detained in their custody.
