Short Link:
On the eve of the three-year anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, Rep. Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has called on Secretary of State Antony Blinken to testify before Congress regarding the withdrawal, which he described as “chaotic” and “catastrophic.”
McCaul’s request was made in a letter sent to Blinken. As of now, neither Secretary Blinken nor the State Department spokesperson has responded to the committee’s request.
The House Foreign Affairs Committee had previously committed to uncovering the details surrounding the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Several officials from various government departments have already testified before the committee as part of its ongoing investigation.
