Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy of the Russian National Security Council, has said that the United States actively supported the export of Afghan heroin to Russia and its allied nations over the past two decades.

According to Medvedev, the Taliban, in just one year, surpassed the efforts of the United States and its allies in the 20-year struggle against drug production in Afghanistan.

Medvedev contends that, irrespective of one’s sentiments towards the Taliban, they have achieved more in countering drug-related issues within a year than the US-led NATO coalition, ostensibly combating terrorism in the region, managed in two decades.
