Khalizad Laid out Condition for Improving Washington-Islamabad Relations

The US envoy to Afghanistan stated that the US-Pakistan relation won’t ever normalized till the country change its policies toward Afghanistan.

In his address to Afghan youths   in the Bamiyan, Jawzjan, and Parwan provinces via a video call Zalmy Khalilzad, the Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation noted that despite US-Taliban peace in Afghanistan a new peace agreement should be reached between Afghanistan and Pakistan and the country should bring about changes in its policies toward Afghanistan.

Urging Pakistan to play a more positive role, he said if Islamabad desires better ties with Washington, “their policy toward Afghanistan must change, otherwise, the US and Pakistan relations will not improve”.

Zalmy Khalizad arrived in Kabul to peruse his mission to reach peace in Afghanistan, met and talked with Afghan officials including President Ghani, Hamid Karzai, Abdullah Abdullah and other politicians in the Afghanistan  Presidential Palace.
