Karzai Urges Taliban to Provide Education for Girls

In a message for Eid al-Adha, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai emphasized the importance of equal educational opportunities for Afghanistan’s growth and stability.

“Afghanistan’s population, prosperity, stability, and progress require equal opportunities for public education and the training of necessary manpower,” Karzai stated.

He further highlighted the need for fostering understanding and representation of the national will and strengthening national unity and social solidarity.

“The prosperity, development, and independence of society are directly related to the education and knowledge of its people,” Karzai continued. “For progress and success, we must provide education for our children, both boys and girls, across the country.”

Karzai reiterated his call for the Taliban to reopen schools and universities for girls, stressing that this step is essential for lifting the country out of poverty and setting it on a path toward development and excellence.
