Ariana News Agency: The EU foreign policy chief stressed peace process in Afghanistan is in a dark phase and stressed on the need for the Taliban to commit to the ceasefire.
According to Al-Jazeera, EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell stated that sanctions can not be lifted unless the Taliban commits to
the ceasefire in Afghanistan.
“Our assistance to Afghanistan depends on respect for human rights, good governance and the fight against corruption,” said Borrell. Sanctions cannot be lifted unless we commit to a permanent ceasefire and a political process.
Josep Borrell later on in his speech, said it is probable that the European Union imposes more sanctions on Belarus during a meeting next month.
