Increasing Poverty and Hunger in Afghanistan

The World Food Program (WFP) stated on its X page that at least 12 million people in Afghanistan are facing food insecurity and do not know where their next meal will come from.

The organization added that 4 million infants and pregnant women are currently malnourished.

The WFP emphasized that it urgently requires $677 million to sustain its operations in Afghanistan over the next six months.
