General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, accused the Taliban government of harboring the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and claimed that terrorism is entering Pakistan from Afghanistan’s soil.
General Asim Munir stated that the primary reason for the disagreement between them and Afghanistan is the issue of terrorism across the border and the presence of safe havens for the TTP in Afghanistan.
According to Pakistani media reports, Asim Munir, in a meeting with leaders of various political parties in Peshawar, said that the Taliban government could resolve this problem. He alleged that terrorism is coming from Afghanistan and threatening Pakistan’s security.
Islamabad has consistently accused the Taliban government of sheltering the TTP. However, the Taliban has denied these accusations, stating that Pakistan should not “place its snow on the Afghan roof” and blame Afghans for Pakistan’s internal issues.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that 2024 could be one of the bloodiest years for Pakistan’s security forces.
