Education of Girls in Afghanistan; A Victim of the Taliban’s Extremist Policies

مکتب 550x295 - Education of Girls in Afghanistan; A Victim of the Taliban's Extremist Policies

Despite the unfulfilled promises made by the Taliban, they continue to keep universities and schools closed to girls in Afghanistan. This policy has not only destroyed the hopes of the young generation but has also led to the rise of jihadist schools and extremist education, shaping a dark and uncertain future for Afghan society.

Despite Taliban officials’ promises to the people of Afghanistan regarding the reopening of universities for girls, this promise has not been implemented. The people expected that the Taliban would address the educational challenges faced by girls and women in Afghanistan as soon as possible, opening the doors of schools and universities for girls.

However, over three years have passed, and not only has there been no action in this regard, but the growth of jihadist schools, which are accompanied by a rigid, harsh culture and a frozen mindset, has increased in the country. These jihadist schools teach and promote extremist and takfiri ideologies, distancing girls and youth from real education.

The closure of schools and universities has shattered the hopes for the future of the people of Afghanistan, especially the future generations. This policy has increased the brain drain and painted an unclear picture of Afghanistan’s future, one in which poverty, illiteracy, and the continuation of war and tensions for the survival of the Taliban play a dominant role, keeping the people in darkness and absolute ignorance.
