Background on the New EU Delegate

Bilomo takes over from Veronika Boskovic, a Slovenian diplomat, who led the diplomatic mission since September 2024. Prior to this role, Bilomo managed the Africa department within the European External Action Service and has also served as the EU ambassador to Rwanda.

The EU delegation in Kabul is focused on implementing humanitarian aid, monitoring developmental crises, and observing the political situation in the country.
