Afghanistan’s Railway System Sees Record Cargo Transport in Asad 1405

In the month of Asad 1405, a total of 704,000 tons of goods were transported via Afghanistan’s railway lines, primarily through the Hairatan port.

Over 700,000 Tons of Goods Transported by Rail in Asad

During the month of Asad in the year 1405 according to the solar calendar, more than 700,000 tons of goods were moved through Afghanistan’s railway system. Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works, announced this figure in a press conference.

Haqshenas stated that a total of 704,300 metric tons of cargo was transported, with a significant portion passing through the Hairatan port. According to him, 464,767 tons of this total came from Hairatan, while 39,831 tons arrived from the Aqina port.

Additionally, 62,015 tons were shipped from the Torghundi port, and another 137,687 tons were transported via the Khaf-Herat railway line. The transferred goods included both commercial and non-commercial items, with notable shipments comprising 3,751 tons of carbonated beverages, which have been exported.

The spokesperson emphasized the importance of these transports, stating that such activities could contribute positively to the country’s economic and trade situation. Haqshenas noted that efforts to develop transportation infrastructure would continue, highlighting the ongoing commitment to activity in this sector.
