Afghanistan’s Railway System Achieves Milestone with 704,000 Tons of Goods Transported

In the month of Asad 1405, a total of 704,000 tons of goods were transported via Afghanistan’s railway system, primarily through the Hairatan port.

Statistics on 700,000 Tons of Goods Transported in Asad

During the month of Asad in the Afghan calendar year 1405, more than 700,000 tons of goods were moved through Afghanistan’s railway network. Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works, shared this information during a press conference.

According to Haqshenas, a total of 704,300 metric tons were transferred, with the majority coming from Hairatan port. He noted that 464,767 tons were transported from Hairatan, while an additional 39,831 tons originated from Aqina port.

Furthermore, 62,015 tons were moved from Torghundi port, and another 137,687 tons were transported via the Khaf-Herat railway line. The cargo included both perishable and non-perishable items, with a notable export of 3,751 tons of carbonated beverages among the shipments.

The spokesperson emphasized the significance of these transfers, stating that such initiatives could aid in improving the country’s economic and commercial landscape. Haqshenas confirmed that efforts to enhance transport infrastructure will continue, highlighting this process as a clear indication of ongoing activity in this sector.
