The Taliban’s Interior Minister has called for international cooperation in combating drug production and promoting alternative cultivation in Afghanistan.

Speaking at the inauguration of the “Higher Anti-Narcotics Commission,” Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s Interior Minister, emphasized that drugs are a threat not only to Afghanistan but to all of humanity.

“We are facing a shortage of facilities and equipment in this field,” Haqqani stated. “The international community must provide assistance, and the frozen funds of Afghanistan should be released to support farmers in alternative cultivation efforts.”

Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Motaghi, also present at the event, noted that the Taliban government is not only fighting against drugs but also against human trafficking and other related issues.

“This phenomenon not only devastates Afghan youth but also negatively impacts Afghanistan’s relations with the international community,” Motaghi added.
