Clearing Badakhshan of poppy fields

Security officials in Badakhshan say that the process of destroying poppy fields started three months ago in this province. The last fields cultivated with this drug in Khash City have been destroyed.

According to Maulvi Abdul Qayyum Shoja, the head of the delegation of the Taliban’s counter-narcotics department that came to Badakhshan, thousands of hectares of land have been cleared of the poppy in this province.
