Canadian Refugee Minister: The Taliban have prevented thousands of Afghan refugees from leaving

Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said thousands of Afghan refugees had been accepted for resettlement in Canada, but the Taliban had prevented them from leaving Afghanistan.

Fraser said the Taliban could not manage Kabul airport and could not issue travel documents professionally.

Canada has already announced that it will accept 40,000 Afghan refugees by next year.
