Approximately 6,000 Afghan Citizens Incarcerated in Pakistani Prisons

The Ministry of Migration under the Taliban has provided statistics indicating that nearly 6,000 Afghan migrants are presently held in Pakistani prisons.

The ministry has confirmed ongoing discussions with the authorities of the interim government of Pakistan to facilitate the release of Afghan refugees.

As per the ministry’s data, over 600 Afghan citizens have been successfully released from Pakistani prisons and repatriated to Afghanistan since the commencement of the new solar year.
