Anatoly Sidorov, head of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, said that the number of ISIS fighters has reached 6,500, of which 4,000 are concentrated near the Tajik border.
“The number of ISIS members has increased significantly,” Sidorov added.
Sidorov stated that over 4,000 ISIS fighters are concentrated along the southern border of Tajikistan and in Badakhshan, Kunduz and Takhar provinces.
The head of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization continued: The biggest threat to the stability of Central Asia is many extremist groups in Afghanistan.
He emphasized that ISIS and Al-Qaeda are the most dangerous groups.
