Amnesty International says the Taliban have carried out retaliatory killings during their attacks and after coming to power.
The organization’s annual report states that the parties to the conflict in Afghanistan have continued to commit serious human rights violations, including war crimes, in the past year.
According to the organization, in 2021, targeted killings in Afghanistan reached record levels.
Amnesty International says the Taliban and other armed groups have also been responsible for the targeted killings of human rights defenders, women activists, humanitarian and health workers, journalists, former government officials and members of the security forces.
