Amnesty International Reports Severe Intensification of Restrictions on Women in Afghanistan

Amnesty International has issued a stern critique of the Taliban’s policies towards Afghan girls and women, describing the increasing restrictions as a “systematic obliteration of a generation.”

According to the organization’s latest report, the Taliban has perpetuated human rights violations over the past two and a half years with impunity.

In contrast, the Taliban has responded to these allegations by asserting that, despite certain challenges, it remains committed to upholding human rights, including women’s rights, in the country. This claim stands in sharp contrast to the evidence and observations presented by Amnesty International and other human rights observers.
