Amnesty International has responded to the public execution carried out by the Taliban.
Following the Taliban’s execution of a father and son in Ghazni, Amnesty International has urged the group to halt all executions.
The organization has further implored the Taliban to abolish other forms of cruel, inhuman, and degrading punishments, alongside executions.
“Public executions exacerbate the inherent cruelty of the death penalty, inflicting inhumane suffering on the victims and leaving indelible scars on witnesses,” stated Amnesty International in its release.
Simultaneously, the organization expressed concern over the lack of access to fair trials under Taliban jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the Taliban Supreme Court announced that this group had carried out “qisis” against these two people in Ghazni for committing murder.
