The leader of the Afghan Resistance Front said that the Taliban only wanted to surrender and pledge allegiance and that the Front’s talks with the Taliban had failed.

Ahmad Massoud, leader of the Resistance Front against the Taliban, said the front’s talks with the Taliban had failed.

Referring to his meetings with the Taliban in recent months, he said the group only wanted surrender and allegiance.

Ahmad Massoud said that the war of the Resistance Front against the Taliban would continue until an agreement is reached on forming a government based on the votes of the people in Afghanistan. According to him, this war has been imposed on the resistance front.

The Taliban had promised during talks in Doha with the United States that it would talk to Afghanistan’s political factions about forming a future Afghan system. Still, the group has not attempted to revive political talks with internal factions so far.

The leader of the Afghan Resistance Front also said: “We have accurate information that in the light of the Taliban support, terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda have expanded their training centers, increased their recruitment and expanded their activities [in Afghanistan].
