Afghanistan produces 80% of drugs in the world

The United Nations announced that Afghanistan is still at the top of the list of opium-producing countries and supplies 80% of the world’s drugs.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime announced in a report: poppy cultivation in Afghanistan in 2022 has increased by 32% compared to 2021, and 233 thousand hectares of poppy land have been cultivated.

Meanwhile, the Taliban claims that poppy cultivation has stopped in Afghanistan, and its amount has reached zero.
