Afghan refugees protest in Albania

Several Afghan refugees in Albania have been protesting against the slow pace of their transfer to the United States.

During the protests, protesting asylum seekers demanded their immediate transfer to the United States.

The refugees, who were evacuated from Kabul following the Taliban’s entry into Kabul in August 2021, are still waiting in the Mediterranean region of Albania.

Pictures released from the protests show some women and children attending the rally holding posters that read, “We are forgotten.”

The United States and some non-governmental organizations are responsible for financially supporting the resettlement of these individuals.
