Indira Gandhi Children’s Specialized Hospital in Kabul announced that 1,125 malnourished children were brought to this hospital in the past year, and 80 died.
Hasiba Yousefi, the head of the malnutrition department of Indira Gandhi Hospital, said that in the first three months of this year, 300 malnourished children were brought to this hospital, and 9 of them died due to this disease.
Doctors have mentioned poverty, lack of healthcare for families, and children not being vaccinated as the most significant causes of malnutrition in Afghanistan.
