The United Nations has provided $ 413 million in immediate livelihood assistance to the people of Afghanistan this year.
SIGAR, or the US Special Inspector General, announced $ 413 million in immediate livelihood assistance to the Afghan people.
Earlier, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP) issued a joint statement saying that humanitarian aid to Afghanistan had prevented a food crisis in the winter. Still, that hunger was continuing at unprecedented levels across the country.
Humanitarian aid, livelihood support, and long-term investment are needed to help resolve the crisis in Afghanistan, the statement said.
